The sweater is a lot of fun and I think the bow tie and coat completes the look. As the weather transitions into winter, it's all about layering your clothes. I mean, if you want to wear a thick jacket over your outfit everyday just to stay warm, that's your decision. Layering not only gives you the option of keeping warm but you can put things together to create a unique look.
Try to think of an onion and the many layers it carries...

- wife beater/ camisole <-- take your pick with choosing one or the other OR both for extra warmth --> a long sleeve/ t-shirt/ button up
Next:
- a sweater/ your desired top
then...
- a cardigan (optional)
then...
- a jacket/ coat
and of course...
- accessorize: scarves/ gloves/ beanie/ socks
